Skibsplast 650 560 in rough waters, experience needed

Hello,

 

i am looking for a older Skibsplast. The models 650cc and 560VS would be great for me.

 

But i am looking for a boat, who handles waves (up to 0,5-1m) and routh sea really good. No hard knocking, gently smooth go through waves.

Skibsplast are mentioned, to have this skills.

 

But...

 If i look at these Skibsplast hulls, they are designed with a very flat V-Hull deadrise of 15,5° degree! That is really very flat.

 

So, is the smothe handling of skibsplast in rough sea a fairy tale??

 

Compared with american boats like Wellcraft, Rinker, Four Winns, 6,5m, usually 20° degree V-hull. ....

 

Any experience in this?

I did not know of the rumour that Skipsplast is smooth in rough seas. As you say their hull is rather flat, but most of them has a sharp bow. That splits the waves rather well.

I rather thought that Nordkapp have higher dead rise and are capable of more smooth ride with approx 22 degrees. The Ibizas also are in the better category.

 

yamarins are 20 degrees generally.

Take a look at Master/INTER Miami 670. This is a better boat for rough sea. Has become a classic in Norway at least.

its all kinda relative  - as Alfaalfa says a sharp bow may work.   As long as speeds are kept moderate.

 

Also, there's more to it than just deadrise. E.g the relation between lenght and width, and how buoyant the hull sections are designed.  

I.e. my Yamarin 59c has a very buoyant bow , so it has a rough ride againt the waves.  But I also won't have to be afraid that it'll dive thru the waves when running quarteing seas.

So, for rough waters, Skibsplast are not really good, right? 

 

Sharp bow, ok. But if you are going about 35-40km/h on plane, you are contact the water only with the back surface of the bow, not with the sharp bow, right?
