Hi, I’m planning on taking the test for the vhf radio as the boat I have bought has one, my question is if I have the license is that it can I just use it? Does it have its own number and if so how do I get it and do I have to register the boat to be able to use it? Thanks in advance!

If the VHF radio is already registered with MMSI number; If the previous owner has announced a change of ownership, the transfer of the license will take place automatically (transferred to you). If the previous owner has not reported a change of ownership, you can contact the license department on 67 89 32 00 / lisensavdelingen@telenor.com and request a change of ownership.
     If the VHF radio is not registered with MMSI number / previous owner did not have the license, you can easily sign a new license on "My Pages".

Some radios allow deleting the MMSI number. Then you can just enter yours. Some radios need to be sent to the dealers.

just looking back here and thought id just reply again, i passed the exam last week for the vhf/src certificate and got the licence in the post today :)
