Hi; I recently bought a 45 year old boat. I have a leak in one of the windows. I want to fix it, but I've never done it before; and I'm not very good with my fingers either... I'm trying to find some documentation about this type of window and how to install/repair them. I couldn't find anything online with my basic knowledge of Norwegian language. Can anyone give me a link to some internet site; or give me some advices on how to proceed? That would be great; thanks Sitér dette innlegget Link to post
Regattafisker Svart 26.Juli Link til dette innlegget Svart 26.Juli Is the leak in the window itself or between the window and the glassfiber? Sitér dette innlegget Link to post

The water runs down from the window frame over the the white plastic glassfiber covering; so I would say the window. The thing is that from the outside all seems ok.... Regattafisker Svart 27.Juli Link til dette innlegget Svart 27.Juli If I understood this correctly, it runs from the window frame and not over the window frame, the issue must be between the window and the glassfiber. If this is the case, window should be removed everything g should be cleaned very neatly, then use butyl tape to create a new seal between window and frame. Sitér dette innlegget Link to post
Regattafisker Svart 27.Juli Link til dette innlegget Svart 27.Juli I did this myself just weeks ago. Mine was glued so it was a bit of a hassle, but now it’s sealed with butyl and should be easier to fix in the future. Se images of cleaning: Sitér dette innlegget Link to post
