English: FM Motor Type L 2 Questions

Tk

Recommended Posts

Hi there

I began to overhaul my FM L2 and found out that the holes in the exhaust pipe (elbow) are partly much smaller (33mm) than in the Motorblock (36mm). I guess this is just a inaccuracy. Shall I leave it that way or is it wise to enlarge these holes?

Has somebody a gasket for the elbow unit and a head gasket for me? The companies where I had appilied are ignoring my wishes.

Thank you very much for any help.

Greetings

Hi Tobias

Which companies have you been in touch with?

I suggest you get in touch with Petter Fagerli, alias "Mekkern", who is based in Moss. I assume you haven't contacted him yet?

He has bought out the entire FM parts stock and is providing parts and servicing for all FM engines.

Highly recommended - I use him too, on my own FM L2.

His address is:

http://www.mekkern.com/

+47 41 72 25 22

His workshop is located centrally in Moss.

Best regards

Colin

Hello Colin

Thank you your answer. I hate to say this but I am in contact with Petter Fagerli but the problem is that he is too busy. Every answer takes weeks or even months. He offered me two or three weeks ago some parts. I had a question regarding his offer (new carburator, gaskets). Now I have to wait again because he seems to be the only one with new parts. We will see.

Regards

Tobias

Not a FM. But a similar Norwegian engine. Still make them. Good sound. I was "raised in" a boat with 2 cylinder 6-9 hp Marna petrol engine. :yesnod:

Hi

Yes, I know this video from youtube, but it is not there anymore.

I was raised with a two cylinder twostroke diesel with 30hp/300 rpm from 1936. Unfortunately there is no sound document from this engine but I guess this engine and our yearly visit in Marstal/Denmark until 1977 are responsible for my love to low revolution engines! :yesnod:
