Nøtterøy
Fant dette her i en Britisk fagforenings avis for sjøfolk. (Numast Telegraph) Ser ut til at C-Map er ute etter de som har illegale kopier av kart/programvare!! SAFETY at sea is being jeopardized by the use of ‘pirated’ electronic charts, it was warned last month. The Norwegian ENC company C-Map threatened tough action to combat the problem stating that it views the use of pirated charts as ‘outright theft’. C-Map has stepped up its efforts to identify those who produce, market and use illegally copied charts — warning that it will not hesitate to report cases to the police and ‘vigorously pursue’ offenders through the courts. C-Map said the majority of cases have involved leisure boat owners, but some merchant ships operating within the Norwegian coastal trades have also been discovered using illegal charts. ‘Besides sailing with illegal copies, these users are not navigating with the latest updated maps,’ warned CEO Tor Svanes. ‘This is unsafe for any vessel and an issue which should be addressed by insurance companies.’ Quote Link to post
