Hello,

I rencently bought a SABB GAG Aircooled 1-cylinder Diesel, with a forward and reverse gearbox.

I also own a Sabb HG 10 pk 1 cylinder diesel from 1969 with a broken forward and reverse gearbox.

My question is: Are the two gearboxes, of GAGand HG the same, and can witch them easily.

I´m looking forward to your reply, with kind regards,

Pascal

Hello Pascal

My Name is Tobias Klippert from Bremen, Germany.

I also own a Sabb GA. Do you bought the GAG only because of the gearbox and where do you buy your spares? Here in Germany it is difficult to find a company who deals with Sabb.

Greetings

Tobias

To have it, is better then to need it!

Although the engine is rusty it runs very well.

The previous owner upload a movie of the Sabb Running on You tube

This is the link to the movie

Greetings Pascal.

Hi Tobias,

I´m coming from the north part of the Netherlands, approx. a 2 hour drive from Bremen.

In the first place a bought GAG (Forward and Reverse) for the Gearbox. (Many Sabb´s which I have seen for sale are having a Pitch control gearbox)

The gearbox of my Sabb HG shows on several place welding marks and modifications. I think is has been broken during running or somthing else went terribly wrong.

I didn´t saw it when I bought the boat, I think I liked the shape of the Boat so much I didn´t see anything else anymore.

It´s an typically dutch old working boat build in ±1920, length 5,1m beam 1,8 - Steel Rivitted in rather good condition

(although it needs some welding an the SABB engine needs to be placed)

Here are some pictures

Here are is a picture of the HG Gearbox with the welding marks

With regard to your question

Sabb Parts is also difficult in the Netherlands but sometimes I find some parts/complete engines on a second hand site called "Speurders"

Link www.speurders.nl

I have been looking for some companies who are familiar with SABB myself.

I got this from the internet I don´t know anything about them I have not contacted them.

beacause I´m still working on the boat to get it ready for coming spring.

Here are some addresses gathered since Sept 2008 with regard to SABB

Jachtservice Leslie, Amsterdam

Robbert Schuitemaker van Allpa uit Nijmegen

http://www.jachtservice.nl/pages/welkom.html (they claim al lot of parts for SABB)

http://unitunlimited.nl/dynastart-N_grp_16_33-1.html

I hope this is helping, Currently I don´t know if my SABB HG is in a good condition otherwise you could buy my GA as reserve engine.

Once i´m convinced my HG is good, we could disscuss about the GA.

I Hope this is helping you.

With kind regards,

Pascal Homan
