Still waiting for the two exhaust extensions which will solve the exhaust space problem.

Prepaired for launch.

My brother made a scketch of the spacers.

Drawing2B.jpg.2a8991c16fdbd68f4f8844dd64b7859c.jpg

It took just 4 days, before we got the back. It fitted perfectly, unfortunately  I had forgotten the thickness of the exhaust bellows. So I came 3 mm short between the engines.

we modified the spacer and after another two days they were finished.

That was last weekend. Just had to wait for a new set of gaskets.

IMG_5479.jpg.09b91ab8fe0f8d8eceedc734d99f3687.jpg

So on Tuesday the gaskets arrived and everything is now fixed.

The picture is dark because is was 21:00 when it was finished.

Yesterday checked all the fluid levels. and started everything up.

Everything is running well. (video coming soon)

There still are some flaws in the software which will  be done this week. And coming Friday most likely the

maiden launch.

Congratulations! Damn nice Scand! Hope you get some fun rides with it too, or is it all about the build? ??

Well the build is as almost important for me.

Well today we made the maiden trip. Just a short one of about 30 km just to get an impression.

Terrible weather but never the less. the ride makes it all worthwhile.

Still little thing to do. depth meter and GPS connect to the CAN network.

No speed measurements yet, but tested several times the time to glide. A little bit more than 3 and less than 4 seconds.

One engine was not powerful enough to glide. However one engine keeps it easily gliding. Just when the throttle goes below 2900 it want to slide back in the water.

More bad luck.

After the trip on Saturday, we did another on Sunday. we took some extra gas.

We smelled so gasoline so we decided to to back. and we saw gasoline next to the tank.

It was a few centimetres . but today I measured it again and it was 16 centimetre.

after opening the tank, there could be only one conclusion. Somewhere there is a whole in it.

because the level outside is as much as on the inside of the tank.

After a lot of screws, the destination.

014.jpg.4282083330c96d8da1143cb6db6538c5.jpg

Removed the tank and yes sure the problem revealed.

016.jpg.9a64e55212d4688560a21bb0d20f26a2.jpg

the cause of it all. Corrosion. this is exactly the point where the vent pipe enters the tank compartment.

This piece is cut out and another plate will be welded in place.

020.jpg.3103488e351e8d7a9311b253f415febd.jpg

also there is a lot of lost place under the floor. I am replacing the sides further to the outside(in red) and create a little platform on both sides. each side 10 cm extra. But it will create enough room to put large batteries there and saves some storage space under the benches.

All the electricity works will be moved under the bench

Passing a old  fortified little town called Heusden. You can go to the centre by boat but it was too busy inside. 034.jpg.a0fdbab379924c8441a346f89d418e05.jpg

This a picture at the inside but just on another day.

Continuing passing a lock for the first time with this boat.

129.jpg.7ed1f74b7154f8ebc8428708b0862f05.jpg

Did not expect that. but fun to see.

From this place we continued to the direction of home. meanwhile passing colleagues.

133.jpg.9a06e1fec1e7fb160b5b0ca0610e5151.jpg

Backhoe dredger coming home.

The trip was wonderfull.

Now you would think all's well that ends well  "alt er bra som ender bra".

Well Not.

The day after we cleaned up the boat and it smelled terrible.

After some inspection there was a hose disconnected from the dirtwatertank.

Then tested the toilet again. Still water came from places where it should not.

result  Took the floor out and after inspection there is only one conclusion. There is a hole in the dirtwater tank. But we cannot see it.

:nonod::sad:

Still not knowing what the top speed is. Fuel consumption was about 130-140 liters.

Been there, tried that ... it's rather unpleasant.

Now, I had to get a new tank back in the old days ... 2011 it was. I wrote to scand.no and got this answer back:

"Hei.

Denne kan bestilles direkte hos underleverandør, Thomic Aluminium tlf.+ 47
37027046.

"

I wrote an email to thor@thomic.no and eventually got a new tank installed.

Edit: Somehow your tank looks different from mine ... got to be the difference from a 8600 to a 9200

Its a dirty job and someone has got to do it. that will be me.

A new tank is still available at Agder boatshop. But with transport and customs and all, it is cheaper to build one here.

The tank is from a 9200 build in 1992. The shape is the same as the water tank.

@mthoms : You still got the 8600/9200?
